This summer we have a variety of events lined up, from outdoor Moonlight Cinema to educational activities designed to pique your child’s curiosity. These events are designed for families, couples, and park goers alike and provide a fantastic opportunity for connection, learning, and the creation of summertime memories. Moonlight Cinema

WHEN: 23 NOVEMBER 2023 – 24 MARCH 2024
WHERE: Belvedere Amphitheatre, Centennial Park
If you’re looking for a fun evening of outdoor entertainment under the stars with friends and family, then look no further than Moonlight Cinema. Picture yourself reclining on a picnic blanket under a starlit sky, enjoying a selection of films amidst the beautiful backdrop of Centennial Park. From classics to the latest blockbusters, this outdoor cinema experience invites you to bring your picnic essentials and loved ones for a magical evening. Opt for the AAMI Gold Grass section for premium views and an indulgent experience, or savour culinary delights available at the onsite kitchen and licensed bar. Dogs are welcome too!

Santa's Workshop - Holiday Art & Fun

WHEN: 18, 19 & 20 DECEMBER 2023
WHERE: The WILD PLAY Discovery Centre, Centennial Park 

With the festive season on our doorstep, allow your child to express their creativity while discovering the park's natural environment and its inhabitants in one of our Santa's Workshops on 18, 19 and 20 December. Dive into hours of creative gift-making, nature exploration and holiday storytelling. This full-day event (8am – 4pm) offers a range of art mediums and natural materials for children to create unique gifts for loved ones.

School Holiday Programs

Experience an adventurous summer of school holiday fun in the Parklands with our various educational programs designed with children in mind. Dive into creativity with Park Arts − Wild Wonders, explore engineering in Park Science − Marvellous Machines, and make a splash with Bushrangers − Water World. From artistic exploration to aquatic adventures, our school holiday programs foster teamwork, creativity and a deeper connection to nature. Available for kids up to 12 years old.

So Frenchy So Chic

WHERE: Loch Avenue South, Centennial Park  

Get your group together and don’t miss out on a fun-packed day of France’s finest offerings! Award-winning So Frenchy So Chic festival premieres at Centennial Park on Saturday 20 January with its biggest program to date! Connecting France and Australia for over 10 years, this day−long summer festival celebrates the Art of Living including French contemporary music, culinary delights, fashion, conviviality and lots of Champagne.

Foraging Tours with Diego Bonetto

Discover the culinary wonders hidden in plain sight! Join renowned forager Diego Bonetto on selected dates for Wonderful Wild Weeds tours. Learn about edible weeds, their uses in food, crafts, and natural remedies. Diego, an advocate for edible weeds, draws on his expertise and collaboration with various experts to introduce the world of urban foraging. These family-friendly tours on Saturday 25 November, 3 February and other 2024 dates offer a unique lens into the natural resources found in Centennial Park.

Stars for your Valentine

WHEN: 14 FEBRUARY 2024
WHERE: Loch Avenue South, Centennial Park  

For a unique Valentine's celebration, join us for the popular Stars for your Valentine event. Enjoy a sunset picnic and professional stargazing in a romantic setting. Witness the stunning sunset over the city and marvel at the fly-out of bats from Centennial Park. Sydney City Skywatchers will set up telescopes for a closer look at the enchanting stars and planets. Pack your loved one’s favourite treats and revel in this celestial evening from 7:00pm onwards.
