Mother's Day only comes around once a year and there is plenty to see and do at Centennial Parklands with your special person.
Reconnect to Mother Nature
Rejuvenate in nature this Mother's Day
We invite mothers and daughters to come celebrate, nurture and nourish your connection to each other as well as your connection to the Earth this Mother’s Day with our special mindfulness event.
Together you’ll experience some gentle and restorative movement, mindfulness, nature connection and eco-art in the lush green spaces of Centennial Park. No yoga or meditation experience necessary, we’ll simply let nature soak in through all our senses and share the healing and nurturing effects of remembering our deep connection with the Earth and each other.
See the Stars
Take Mum to an event out of this world and find out about the origins of our star signs, the furthest and the closest planets and how to find south once the sun has set!
Leave behind all your Earthly worries on a tour through the southern night sky on 8 May with our Mother's Day Astronomy in the Park session. You’ll both learn how to navigate using the stars, be captivated by stories of the cosmos, and look through a telescope to see things that aren’t visible to the naked eye.
A nature-inspired Mother’s Day
Explore the diverse landscapes of the Parklands and discover its wildlife and iconic heritage landmarks by taking a self-guide walk.
If Mum has a need for speed, then Centennial Park is one of the best places to hire a bike. Located next to the Children’s Learners Cycleway, choose from tandem bikes, tag along bikes, child carrier bikes and pedal bikes that can fit the whole family at once.
For those who just simply want to relax, you'll find endless space to have a picnic amongst the 15,000 trees across the Parklands.
Whatever you decide to do, don’t forget to give Mum a big hug for all she does!
