What do dinosaurs, robots and superheros have in common?

What do dinosaurs, robots and superheros have in common? They will all be in Centennial Park on the 18 August 2018! The most popular all-day National Science Week event in NSW, Science in the Swamp, returns to the Parklands and is packed full of new science to explore and discover.

National Science Week is the best time of year to discover the wonders of the world around you. This year, Science in the Swamp will be hosting over 50 science stalls, shows, displays and food trucks for the public to enjoy.

This year’s theme will be Dinosaurs vs. Superheroes, so don your cape and come and see the fantastic Erth’s roaming dinosaurs who will be returning to the park to face off with our superhero acrobats.

This year we have two social robots visiting from Western Sydney University. Nao and Pepper are able to recognise human emotion and expression, and may one day help to improve our businesses! Or learn how to build your own robot with Code a Bot.

If the wildlife in Centennial Park isn’t already enough, we will have Australian Wildlife Displays, Birdlife Australia, the Frog & Tadpole Society and Tony the Fish Whisperer visiting. If you’re not too keen on petting a python then our Centennial Parklands Wildlife Officers will also be one site to teach you all about the fascinating native wildlife of Sydney.

We have all sorts of super cool science shows on our main stage, as well as acrobatic shows, tree climbing shows from our expert arborists, and even a bit of theatre! So join us on the 18 August 2018 in Centennial Park for the biggest and most amazing National Science Week event in Sydney.

This Inspiring Australia initiative is supported by both the Australian and NSW Governments as part of Sydney Science Festival in National Science Week
