Centennial Parklands is the place to be in Sydney this summer. 360 hectares of beautiful green spaces, walking tracks, events, activities, The Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden, sports, cafes and more!
Our summer What's On calendar is teeming with great ways to spend time outdoors with activities suited to all interests and ages! Here are our top picks to do this summer across the Parklands.
Kicking off the season is Australia’s most popular outdoor beer festival, Beerfest, taking place in Centennial Park’s Brazilian Fields on the first weekend of December.
Adults can also enjoy the Good Things event (7 December) or slow down with a ParkArts Painting in the Park Class with Kevin McKay (8 December).
Get inspired for Christmas
Love all things Christmas? Enrol the kids in Santa’s Workshop and they will enjoy two hours of creative present making. Materials are collected from Lachlan Swamp and the natural materials are used to make beautiful Christmas-inspired art for your home or presents for loved ones.
School holiday fun
To keep the kids entertained during the school holiday break we recommend Pizza Party in the Bush (13 January), Kids Vs Wild (14 & 23 January) and Bush Rangers Water Fun (15 & 22 January). These water-themed activities educate children about the importance of water and problem solving to help them with their STEM classes in the next school terms.
Summer wouldn’t be complete without a fun family outing to the Australian Wildlife Show (15 January), Holiday Theatre fun – Alice in WonderPark (23 January) or a Spotlight Prowl after dark in Centennial Park (various dates).
In the last month of summer we will celebrate Valentine’s Day with Stars for your Valentine. The perfect romantic night with a sunset picnic and professional stargazing guided by an astronomer.
Families can also dust off their camping gear and join us for a fun summer night camping experience in the heart of Centennial Park with Camping 101 (28 February).
