Memorials and gates

Designed by Sydney City Architect, R H Brodrick, the obelisk was installed on the newly named Anzac Parade in 1917 to honour the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps who had fought at Gallipoli.

Brolga Gate (1930s) was designed by Jack Castle-Harris in memory of Mr Harold W Hamilton. Hamilton was a long-standing Secretary and Treasurer of the environmental group, the Gould League.

Located near Centennial Park’s Robertson Road Gates, the Busbys Bore Commemorative Cairn was installed to mark the location of Busbys Bore, Sydneys first major infrastructure tunnel system.

Centennial Park boasts eight sets of historic sandstone gates. Oxford Street’s Paddington Gates are the most imposing and were built to mark the Park’s official dedication in 1888.

This sandstone memorial features a drinking fountain and was dedicated to the memory of those who perished during the 'Great War' of 1914 - 1918 by the Moore Park Cricket Association.

Flanking Centennial Park’s We Won statue stand two imposing cannons from the Crimean War. The cannons were given to the Park by the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney and installed in 1920.

Kippax Lake Drinking Fountain is a sandstone structure bearing inscriptions in memory of Alderman William Kippax and Mayor John Harris. It features a metal hook, possibly for tethering horses.

Located at Moore Park’s northern end, the Korean War Memorial honours the Australian and Korean veterans of the Korean War (1950–1953), during which 339 Australians and 230,000 South Koreans died.

Near the corner of Anzac Parade and Moore Park Road stand four sandstone piers dating back to 1868. They are remnants of the original grand entrance to Moore Park and were restored in 2004.
