The impacts of intense drought conditions have lowered the water levels in the ponds at Centennial Parklands.
Most of our ponds rely solely on stormwater and lose water through evaporation. These ponds are very dry and we ask that visitors refrain from walking through them. These areas still provide a vital sanctuary for birds and other wildlife.
The water levels in all the ponds continue to be monitored and there are several proactive measures in place to ensure our precious water resource, plant collection and wildlife are not compromised. Learn more about how we are working to limit our water usage and conservation efforts here.
