Walk4BrainCancer raises funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation, an Australian-based organisation working globally to rapidly improve brain cancer survival. The Foundation’s mission is to increase five-year brain cancer survival from the current 20 per cent to 50 per cent by 2023, with a vision to ultimately find a cure for brain cancer. In 2018 Walk4BrainCancer nationally raised almost $2 million and the success of Walk4BrainCancer has enabled record levels of brain cancer research.
Brain cancer kills more children than any other disease in Australia. It also kills more people under 40 in Australia than any other cancer. Yet very little is known about brain cancer, its causes or how to treat it.
Support people impacted by brain cancer at Walk4BrainCancer Centennial Park, an inspirational 5km morning walk around Centennial Park. The path caters for walkers of all levels and is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers.
The start and finish of the course are opposite Govett Street Gates. After you finish the walk join your teammates and other walkers for a BBQ, live music and entertainment for all ages.
Date: Sunday 3 November 2019
