What is the event?

Listen Out is a 16+ outdoor music event held at Brazilian Fields  in Centennial Park. The event will take place on Sunday 6th October 2024 from 12.00 pm to 10.00 pm with up to 17,000 patrons expected to attend.

Which areas of Centennial Parklands are impacted by this event and when?

Listen Out is a large event held on Brazilian Fields in Centennial Park. The event site will be temporarily fenced off to the public for safety reasons from Monday 30 September to Thursday 10 October.

I am not attending the event, will I still be able to access Centennial Parklands on the event day/s?

Yes, you will still be able to access the Parklands on the event day; however, some areas may have traffic and access restrictions.

What will the traffic and access impacts be?

Due to the scale of this event, traffic congestion and delays are expected in and around Centennial Parklands on the day of the event. We recommend you plan your trip and use public transport.

To facilitate easier patron access in the vicinity, the following traffic changes will occur:

Gate Closures: On Sunday 6th October, all Centennial Park vehicle gates will close at the earlier time of 6.00pm except for:

  • Paddington Gates – closed to vehicles all day.
  • Jervois Gates – closed to vehicles all day and closed to pedestrians from 6.00pm.
  • Robertson Road Exit Gate – closed from 12.00pm.

Internal Road Closures and restrictions in Centennial Park

  • Parkes Drive: closed ALL DAY from Paddington Gates to Dickens Drive.
  • Hamilton Drive: closed ALL DAY.
  • Dickens Drive: closed ALL DAY east of Parkes Drive to Grand Drive.
  • Jervois Ave: closed ALL DAY.
  • Loch Avenue South: closed Monday 30 September to Thursday 10 October between Dickens Drive and Grand Drive.

Horse Track:

  • Closed from the corner of Parkes and Grand Drive to Loch Ave from Friday 4 October until Tuesday 8 October 2024 (opened approx. 10.00 am).
  • Closed ALL DAY from Robertson Rd Gates at the Chicane past Café Corner to Loch Avenue on event day.
  • In addition, Centennial Parklands will be closed to all equestrian use from 11.00 am on the day of the event (horses not permitted to enter Parklands after 10.00 am).

Cyclist, Rollerblader and E-Scooter access: Grand Drive will remain open as normal – expect congestion.

Jogging: Open – expect congestion on the track between Robertson Road Gates and Loch Avenue as large crowds cross into Parade Grounds towards the event entry point.

Parking restrictions:

  • NO PARKING on Grand Drive between Robertson Road Gates and Loch Ave
  • NO PARKING on road closures (see above details of road closures)
  • Taxi / Uber Drop Off Zone in operation from 12.00 pm – 6.00 pm during ingress: Grand Drive east of Parkes Drive (internal to Centennial Park)
  • Taxi / Uber Pick Up Zone in operation from 8.00 pm – 11.00 pm on egress: Driver Ave adjacent to the SCG, entry via Moore Park Road.
  • COACHES / PRIVATE BUSES Drop Off and Collection Point will be operating from Moore Park.

Is the event accessible?

Yes, all public events at Centennial Park are accessible. For more information on accessibility for this event, please visit the accessibility page.

What external road closures will be put in place?

A Traffic Management Plan specific to the event has been developed in conjunction with NSW Police, Roads and Maritime Services, and the State Transit Authority. This Traffic Management Plan aims to address safety concerns and minimise impacts on neighbouring residents and traffic in and around Centennial Park.

On event day, there will be some traffic changes and police-managed road closures in and around Centennial Park to manage both pedestrian and vehicle traffic around the precinct. To facilitate patron egress from approximately 8.00 pm – 11.00 pm for safety reasons, the following temporary road closures will be in place:

  • Driver Avenue will be closed from Lang Road to the Southern Turning Circle
  • Lang Road will be closed from Anzac Parade to Cook Road
  • Moore Park Road will be closed from Oxford Street to Oatley Road

Residents of Robertson Road and Martin Road, please note: Police will be on point to assist patron egress and will manage traffic at this point for safety reasons.

Will Centennial Parklands Dining be open as usual?

CP Homestead restaurant will be operating until 11 am only, with patrons to exit by 12 noon. CP Homestead café will be open until 12 noon only.

Will the Spruce Goose Diner be open as usual?

Yes

Will the Green House be open as usual?

Yes

Will the Centennial Park Cycle Hire still be operating?

No

Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?

Yes, there will be sound impacts relating to this music event.
