What is the event?

 
SleepOut for Homeless Youth is a charity fundraising event taking place overnight from Thursday 16 November to Friday 17 November 2023. The event sees participants sleep overnight in Loch Avenue South, raising money and awareness for the Property Industry’s Sleepout for Homeless Youth. Funds raised will go towards building a 19-bedroom refuge for young people in South Dowling, Sydney. Your support will help us give shelter to thousands of young people over its lifetime.
 
Event registrations will commence at 5.30pm, with the event running from 6.30pm until 6.30am.

Which areas of Centennial Parklands are impacted by this event and when?

 
The SleepOut for Homeless Youth event site will be located on Loch Avenue South. The event site will be closed to the public for safety reasons from Wednesday 15 to Friday 17 November 2023.
 

I am not attending the event, will I still be able to access Centennial Parklands on the event day/s?

 
Yes, pedestrian access to Centennial Park will be maintained at all times. All vehicle gates will be open and will close as per normal operations on the day
 

What will the traffic and access impacts be?

 
Centennial Park will remain open for all park visitors. All vehicle gates will remain open as per normal operations. There are no road closures for the event and regular public parking available. Parking may, however, be limited near Loch Avenue South.
 
There will be no restrictions for equestrian users related to this event. Cyclists and roller bladers will be able to access all open roads.

Will Centennial Homestead be open as usual?

 
Yes, Centennial Homestead will be open as usual.

Will the Centennial Park Cycle Hire still be operating?

Yes, open as usual.

Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?

 
There will be local sound only. We are committed to complying with all legislation and guidelines covering amplified sound levels at outdoor events.
