Let us get you off to the right start . . . . and give you the confidence to ride off-road trails on your bike!
This 4 hour MTB skills course is aimed at people who would like an introduction to mountain biking or improve their skills. The course covers the fundamental skills required to ride off road on a fire trail or single track.
Venue: CP - grass area near cycle track
Time: 8.30am – 12.30 pm
Cost: $145 (bike and helmet hire also available)
This course is open to any participant over 16 years of age who can ride a bike and is in good health. Children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult. All participants require a fully functioning mountain bike with knobby tyres (not slicks) and helmet. Front suspension on the bike is recommended. BYO Food, drinks, gloves and sunglasses are also required.
Specialised Hard tail MTB bikes and helmets are available for the clinic. To hire contact Rideability on 0411260336 to arrange.
The course is limited to a maximum of 12 participants to ensure that everyone gets lots of individual attention.
Skills covered include:
* Bike safety check and helmet fitting
* Correct riding position (attack position) and basic bike set up
* Correct gear selection
* Slow riding and balance
* Riding obstacles
* Ascending and descending – positioning on the bike
* Braking techniques
* Riding skinnies (ground level)
* Riding corners/turning
