Astronomy in the Park - Lunar Eclipse

Total Lunar Eclipse - Special event 🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕

Experience the Total Lunar Eclipse from Centennial Park, Sydney on Tuesday 8th November 2022.

Take a front row seat to observe the rare super blood moon.

Weather permitting, you will be able to see the total lunar eclipse while the moon is at its biggest and brightest.

After learning about why the eclipse is happening and having the chance to ask any questions, you will see the moon turn red as it passes through the Earth’s shadow using a high powered telescope and binoculars.

It will be cold so rug up and wear enclosed shoes. Hot drinks and equipment provided but feel free to bring your own picnic or binoculars as well.

This event is weather dependent.

Centennial Park is the perfect setting for stargazing. Come together with your family, friends, or that special someone for an unforgettable evening under the stars.

This event will help you to make sense of what’s going on in the night sky. You’ll learn how to navigate using the stars, be captivated by stories of the cosmos, and look through a telescope to see things that aren’t visible to the naked eye.
