What is the event?
Unite for Hope on Sunday 19 May 2024 is a community fundraising event that sees participants walk, run or jog 5km or 10km within Centennial Park to raise funds and awareness for the Pancare Foundation. Pancares mission is to provide support for all Australians diagnosed with pancreatic, liver, stomach, biliary and oesophageal cancers.
The event will start at 9:00am and conclude around midday.

Which areas of Centennial Parklands are impacted by this event and when?
The Unite for Hope event site will be located on Church Grounds in Centennial Park with a 2.5km course within the Park. Participants will do multiple laps of the course.
The course will depart from Church Grounds, travel north adjacent to Parkes Drive, turn left adjacent to Dickens Drive and continue around the western & southern Grand Drive Circuit back to Church Grounds. The cycle lane, horse track and sealed footpath will not be impacted as course is taking place on the jogging track. Site occupation for this event is on Sunday 19 May from 6:00am until approximately 3:00 pm.
I am not attending the event, will I still be able to access Centennial Parklands on the event day/s?
Yes, pedestrian access to Centennial Park will be maintained at all times. All vehicle gates will be open and will close as per normal operations on the day
What will the traffic and access impacts be?
Centennial Park will remain open for all park visitors. All vehicle gates will remain open as per normal operations. There are no road closures for the event and regular public parking available. Parking may however be limited at the southern end of Parkes Drive and Grand Drive south.
There will be no restrictions to equestrian users related to this event.
Cyclists and roller bladers will be able to access all open roads.
Will Centennial Homestead be open as usual?
Yes, Centennial Homestead will be open as per usual.
Will the Centennial Park Cycle Hire still be operating?
Yes, open as usual.
Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?
Unite for Hope is not a music event however there will be local amplified sound, announcements and music as part of the event atmosphere. The sound will be managed to ensure compliance with legislated sound requirements.
