Royal Hall of Industries

Affectionately remembered by Sydneysiders as the Showbag Pavilion, the Royal Hall of Industries is majestic, grand and rich in history.

Considered to be the pinnacle of construction techniques when it opened in 1913, The Royal Hall of Industries has been an exhibition hall, morgue, roller- and ice-skating rink, boxing venue and ballroom.

Sympathetically restored, the building boasts a vaulted ceiling and magnificent cathedral windows. Today it hosts many of Sydney's prestigious special events, providing a blank canvas where your creative vision can become a reality…

Anything could happen in the Royal Hall of Industries…

Sydney Swans project

Works are underway (since 30 August 2021) to transform the Royal Hall of Industries into a world-class sporting and community hub for not-for profits and elite training facility for the Sydney Swans and their youth Academy. New facilities and space will be able to be enjoyed by the broader community including a outoor plaza and café. The works are due to be completed in late 2022.

For more information on the project go to the Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

The Sydney Swans are leasing the Royal Hall of Industries from Greater Sydney Parklands (GSP) and all rental funds received go straight back into protecting and improving Centennial Parklands.

Public access for the community to our greenspaces, will be maintained at all times for the duration of the works.
