The Sydney Marathon takes place on Sunday 31 August with the 42km Marathon route running through Centennial and Moore Park. Come and cheer on the elite athletes and other participants at the live site beside CP Homestead.
Please note: there will be road closures and more people in the Parklands than usual.
About the event
The TCS Sydney Marathon is back on Sunday, 31 August 2025, and this year it's bigger than ever. The event has officially joined the Abbott World Marathon Majors, putting Sydney alongside cities like New York, London, and Tokyo on the world marathon map. More than 35,000 runners will take on the course, which passes through some of Sydney’s best-known spots, including Moore Park and Centennial Park, before finishing at the Sydney Opera House. Whether you're running, cheering, or just enjoying the atmosphere, it’s set to be a fun, high-energy day with plenty of live entertainment, food, and community spirit.
