                                          Develop a plan for planting more native trees in your school and area.

Make a list of reasons why there needs to be more native trees.

As a class decide which type of native trees would be best suited to your school playground (think back to your chosen tree from ' A Trio of Trees' activity). Discuss what positive effects this new tree will have on the whole area (hint: this new tree will make friends). List key points in the box below.

Note: Be careful not to choose a weed such as African Olive, Lantana or Camphor Laurel. 

Check the website of the local council or look at the Birds in Backyards website for there lists of trees suited to the area.

Work together with your Principal and the rest of the school to organise a tree-planting day. Register and find out more at the Planet Ark website.

Once your new trees are planted, take pictures and drawings to record its growth over time.
