Can’t wait to explore science in our Parklands this National Science Week? Then head to From Swamp to Scrub for a virtual journey of two of Sydney’s most iconic parks – Centennial Parklands and Western Sydney Parklands!

From Swamp to Scrub is an interactive, science-packed journey from the wetlands of Centennial Parklands to the woodlands and scrub of Sydney’s biggest backyard, Western Sydney Parklands. With nine science activities, including adventures to complete on screen and away from the computer, From Swamp to Scrub brings the science behind Sydney’s unique flora, fauna and parks to life, whilst keeping budding scientists engaged and having fun along the way!

Continue your science quest in person at our Science in the Swamp event! Returning after a two-year hiatus to Centennial Park on Sunday 21 August – Science in the Swamp is a free family day out jam-packed full of science, fun and discovery.



Did you know that Centennial Park is one of the darkest places in Sydney making it the perfect spot for stargazing in the city? Start your science journey at the Parklands in the evening before our Science in the Swamp event with an introduction to stargazing and  stories of the night sky from a First Nation's perspective.
