Park Science – Incredible Insects

Discover the amazing world of insects with us this spring!

Why are some insects brightly coloured while others blend in? How do bees see the world? What makes invertebrates incredible? How do flowers attract bees, butterflies and other pollinators? How do some insects walk on water?

Children will dive into these fascinating questions and explore the wonderful world of invertebrates. They’ll learn what makes a bug a bug, how to tell the difference between a centipede, a millipede, and a worm, and whether a spider is really an insect.

Guided by our Educators, children will enjoy a day filled with hands-on investigations and problem-solving. They’ll go on an outdoor bug hunt, explore the environment on a nature walk, play fun role-playing games, and create their own insect-inspired art to take home.

This program is suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years.
