Greater Sydney Parklands is committed to creating better parks for people. It is an important step towards realising the Moore Park Master Plan 2040 vision of the park as ‘a place for everyone’.
Greater Sydney Parklands is actively working with its community sports user groups to maximise usage of this revitalised area, ensuring Centennial Parklands continues to expand it community sport offering and remain Australia’s largest community sport precinct.
Upper Kippax Works
Works to improve Upper Kippax for the community included:
-
Turf improvements to improve turf coverage and resilience, providing a green space for all to enjoy
-
Upgrade of the existing cricket pitch for community sport
-
Relocation of log barriers to provide a more open park space
Upgrades to Upper Kippax are now complete, including a new wicket and returfing, enabling community cricket to be played in this area for the first time in decades. We will continue to maintain this field, in line with all playing fields to ensure we can continue to meet the growing demand for quality sporting facilities in the Moore Park area.
