Moore Park South - What we heard

In October 2023, the NSW Government announced their plan to transform 20 hectares of public land at Moore Park South into a vibrant new park for Sydney, with a reimagined public golf offer, to support the needs of people living in one of the densest areas of Australia.
 
To inform the Moore Park South Establishment Plan, the NSW Government consulted extensively with community and stakeholders. Thousands of people have shared feedback which has helped to shape the design of new park and golf offer.

Consultation was held on the following:

A ‘What we heard’ report summarising feedback has been prepared following the public exhibition of the discussion paper and draft establishment plan:
  The engagement program was delivered in line with Greater Sydney Parklands’ consultation and engagement framework. 
 

Discussion Paper


In February 2024, the NSW Government released the ‘Future of Moore Park South’ Discussion Paper, inviting the community and stakeholders to share their vision for Moore Park South, including how they would like to use the new park and how the existing golf offer could be reimagined.
 
Awareness and promotion included:
 
  • 27,000 webpage views (22,000 unique views)
  • 92,836 reach across 2 paid social media ads, and 138,289 reach via Facebook posts by City of Sydney and Randwick councils
  • 14,426 eNewsletter recipients  
  • 26,800 newsletters delivered to surrounding properties
  • posters displayed across Centennial Parklands  
  • promotion by local councils.
Participation included: 
 
  • 8,615 survey responses
  • 315 submissions
  • over 360 interactions across 8 pop-up sessions
  • 13 workshops and briefings with key stakeholders.

Public exhibition

 
The draft Moore Park South Establishment Plan was publicly exhibited from 28 October to 24 November 2025 and sought feedback on priorities for the new park and golf offer.

Feedback was captured in the NSW Government's latest ‘What we heard’ report, published in May 2026.

Awareness and promotion included:
 
  • 5,656 views of the project webpage
  • 7,561 views via the ‘Have Your Say’ page
  • 14,509 eNewsletter recipients
  • 24,000 newsletters delivered to surrounding residents
  • 13 workshops, briefings and focus groups
  • over 600 interactions across 9 pop-up sessions
  • posters displayed across Centennial Parklands  
  • promotion by local councils.
Participation included: 
 
  • 879 online guided submission forms
  • 1,136 submissions.
