Major feature film in Centennial Park

Published on 12 Oct 2018

Centennial Parklands is a popular location choice for film shoots and we proudly support Screen NSW and the Australian film industry, recognising the benefits of such projects for the local economy.

From 15 October 2018, a major feature film set will utilise the northern end of Federation Valley in Centennial Park.

Due to the complex and highly detailed nature of the sets that have been designed for this location, the production company will begin assembling sets next week. Filming is expected to take place in January and February.

We aim to manage the site similar to previous filming and take all efforts to minimise any disruption to normal park operations as far as practicable. Filming is scheduled to take place between the hours of 7.00 am - 5.00 pm on weekdays only.

If you are planning to visit the Parklands during this period, please take note of the following access changes associated with the shoot:

Federation Valley

From 15 October 2018 to March 2019 a compound will occupy part around 1% of the dog off-leash area at the northern end of Federation Valley. Dog walkers can continue to use the rest of the Valley or enjoy other dog off-leash areas in the Parklands such as Sandstone Ridge, South West Paddock and Queens Park.

Loch Avenue North

From January to March 2019 there will be temporary road closures in place to vehicles on Loch Avenue North (between the intersection of Loch Avenue North and Robinson Drive to Grand Drive) on weekdays. During closure periods, traffic will be redirected to Robinson Drive. All of Loch Avenue North will be re-opened again for weekend traffic.

More information

All public utilities in Federation Valley, including amenities and taps will remain accessible for the duration of the shoot. The area will also be rejuvenated once filming concludes with higher-quality turf for all to enjoy.
