Extreme weather conditions - safety precautions (19-25 March)

Visitors to Centennial Parklands should take care when visiting the Parklands due to the extreme weather conditions forecast across Sydney over the next few days.

Please note the following safety precautions:
 
  • Some roads could be temporarily closed due to flooding or storm damage including the internal roads of the Park.
  • The water feature at the Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden will be closed from the afternoon of Friday 19 March. The water play will reopen on Monday 22 March pending favourable conditions.
  • All sports fields are closed until at least Monday 22 March.
Please stay safe and follow directions from parklands staff.

Update Monday 22 March   
  • Vehicle access via Randwick Gates is closed due to flooding. Vehicles can exit only at Randwick Gate, and enter and exit at Robertson Road Gates.
  • All sports fields are closed on Monday 22 March. 
  • The water play feature at Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden remains closed.
Update Tuesday 23 March
  • Vehicle access via Randwick Gates is closed due to flooding. Vehicles can exit only at Randwick Gate, and enter and exit at Robertson Road Gates.
  • All sports fields and the water play feature at Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden remains closed until further notice.
Update Wednesday 24 March - 9am AEDT
  • The Randwick Gates – Grand Drive road closure remains in place.

  • The water play feature at Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden is undergoing mechanical repairs, it remains closed for today. 
Update Wednesday 24 March - 3pm AEDT
  • Randwick gates and Grand Drive have reopened.
Update Thursday 25 March -10am AEDT
  • The water play feature at Ian Potter Children's WILD PLAY Garden is now operational and active today.
