Love your park? Join our community trustee boards

Help shape the future of your park. Nominate for a Greater Sydney Parklands community trustee board.

We’re a NSW Government agency, providing a city-wide voice for some of Sydney’s iconic parks, including Centennial Parklands, Western Sydney Parklands, Parramatta Park, Callan Park and Fernhill Estate.

Community trustee boards provide local advice on park management and local community issues.

Nominations will open on 10 February until 7 March.

Vacancies:

  • Callan Park – 1 x community member
  • Centennial Park and Moore Park (incorporating Queens Park) – 1 x First Nations representative (identified position)
  • Fernhill Estate – 1 x First Nations representative (identified position)
  • Parramatta Park – 2 x community members
  • Western Sydney Parklands – 1 x community member and 1 x First Nations representative (identified position)

Eligibility criteria:

  • sound knowledge of the parkland, including the activities carried out in the parkland
  • ability to communicate effectively with residents, local community groups and other persons who use the parkland.

All positions are voluntary and unremunerated. The community trustee boards meet quarterly. New members will be appointed for a 2-year term.

Nominations close 7 March 2025.

Nominees must complete an appointment form and privacy notice as well as provide a current CV.

Probity checks will be undertaken for all nominees. Shortlisting will be undertaken by Greater Sydney Parklands. Final appointment is by the Minister for Planning and Public Spaces.

Applicants will be advised of the outcome in May 2025.
