Issues raised by the Community
Two issues had been raised at the Centennial Parklands visitor information counter:
- Possible fencing of the Banksia Way car park to stop children from the playground running into the parking area. The CCC agreed with the Trust that this was considered to be not realistic, as the parking area is set back from the playground and, if this is a concern to parents, there is a fenced park for children near the Paddington Gates.
- Need for more benches around Grand Drive – agreed that this be raised with the Foundation.
The CCC also raised the issue that ‘No Cycling’ and ‘No Skateboarding’ symbols on the Grand Drive walking path have worn off and there are an increasing number of cyclists and skateboarders using the path often quite dangerously. The Trust agreed to repaint the signs.
