Take some time out from the hustle and bustle of the city and lose yourself in the woodlands and grasslands of Centennial Park.
Woodland areas
The Pine Grove is located in the centre of Centennial Park, it is amidst a thick cluster of pines with a bed of pine needles on the ground.
The pines at Ash Paddock is a popular area of sloping grounds with pines. The site was once converted into the slopes of the Canadian alps for a TV commercial.
Paperbark Grove is wonderful avenue of paperbark trees with a shaded barbecue location and adjacent grassy areas.
Grassland and open space
South West Paddock is an open, grassed area that we deliberately maintain in a naturalistic (unkempt) manner. It has a blanket of long grass and is surrounded by wonderful trees such as pines, wattles and a magnificent Moreton Bay Fig.
Church Grounds is a wide open space with city views and a large pond. It is easily accessible and is a suitable space for infrastructure making it an ideal location for major productions.
Loch Avenue South is conveniently located with public amenities on site and is an ideal location to set up larger props for shoots requiring a roadway.
Federation Valley is a beautiful setting housing the historic Federation Pavilion. This site was the location for the bungalow scene of the Baz Luhrmann's feature film, The Great Gatsby!
Lachlan Swamp is home to tall paperbark trees that are typical of a coastal paperbark swamp, with walking tracks and native ferns. The area is left to maintain its own natural balance, making it the ideal location for an enchanted forest scene.
Slopes, outcrops and cliffs
Sandstone Ridge runs along the northern edge of Centennial Park, with rocky outcrops lining a semi-wild area.
Queens Park is predominantly playing fields, but also boasts sweeping views looking out to the Sydney basin.
Mt Steel is situated in Moore Park West near Moore Park Golf, it is a hidden treasure, offering panoramic views of the city scape. It is one of the only remaining sandhills that formerly dominated this part of Sydney.
