The Light Garden

From 18 to 27 January 2013, we celebrated the 125th Anniversary of Centennial Park with a great free community event called "The Light Garden".

More than 30,000 people came to enjoy the sights and festivities.

Here is what we enjoyed:

Dog-gone it!

On Thursday 25 January we attempted a Parklands record of getting 125 dogs all in one photo at one time... we fell 2 dogs short!

A fantastic effort though. Just have a think about how much dedication went into getting 123 dogs together to pose for a photo:

The Wish Tree was the winner

One element of the event, however, caught people's imaginations more than the rest - The Wish Tree.

All good things must come to an end!

The response to The Light Garden was staggering, and people's love of Centennial Park surpassed even our most optimistic expectations. When the lights went off for the final time, a few tears weree shed, and the disappointment was palpable.

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed our wonderful event, and we hope to see you all often in Centennial Park.
