Tree removal near Spruce Goose Cafe, Parkes Drive, Tuesday 1 December 2020

Customers at the Spruce Goose café on Parkes Drive may be impacted by noise due to a nearby tree removal.
Details of the tree removal are:
 
Tree species: Melaleuca quinquenervia (broad-leaved paperbark)
Location: Northern end of Randwick Pond, close to Vernon Pavilion 
Reason: Bark inclusion failure on main stem. The tree has already begun to split apart on two axis’s due to a natural structural defect called a bark inclusion.
Impacts: Associated machinery noise during the works. Access between the Vernon Pavilion and Mission Fields will not be available during the works.
Date of removal: Tuesday, 1 December 2020, 7am until completed.
