Centennial Parklands is Australia's largest community sports precinct. More than 35 sports are played at the Parklands' 120 fields, running tracks and venues, and more than 560,000 people train, compete and play here annually.
Moore Park’s Kippax Lake Field is frequently used by professional sport bodies and provides premium facilities for the teams to train.
Under a strict set of protocols which have been formulated by a governing body with input from biosecurity experts the National Rugby League (NRL) competition has been cleared by the NSW Government to resume training from 6 May 2020.
The Sydney Roosters will commence training at the Kippax Lake Field on 7 May 2020. A mandated requirement of the NRL’s Project Apollo Protocols is for clubs which train at public fields to have temporary fencing around the perimeter of the field.
From 6 May there will be temporary medium-level fencing at Kippax Lake Field to ensure biosecurity compliance for all pre-booked Sydney Roosters NRL training sessions.
During this time, the field will remain accessible to the public outside training hours through entry points at the North and South ends of the field.
The Sydney Roosters will ensure the immediate removal of the temporary fencing once it deemed appropriate to do so by biosecurity experts, working in conjunction with the NSW Government.
