Centennial Park Road Resurfacing Project (17 to 25 April 2018)

Published on 12 Apr 2018

As part of the Centennial Park Master Plan 2040 process, we identified the need to resurface the roads within Centennial Park. Stage 1 focused on Grand Drive and was successfully completed in 2015. This April we will undertake Stage 2 to upgrade and resurface the Park’s internal roads.

Works will include the resurfacing of the roadway, flood mitigation and vehicle safety upgrades, as well as improved line marking. These works will be delivered as night works from Tuesday 17 to Wednesday 25 April, weather permitting.

There will be no operational impacts for these improvements as they will take place after the Park has closed. We ask that pedestrians passing the area while the works are being completed take care.

In order to minimise impact and access disruptions to park visitors, works will be night only – with construction equipment beginning around 7.00 pm each evening, and finishing before 6.00 am the next morning. The roads will be returned to a safe and 'useable' condition each morning, however line marking will follow shortly afterwards.
