Ride for Life success in Centennial Park
18 August 2008
The fifth annual Ride for Life cycling event held in Centennial Park on Sunday 17 August 2008 was a resounding success with a record 500+ cyclists competing on a perfect winter’s day.
Riders competed in various races and a recreational fun ride on a closed circuit around Grand Drive, Parkes Drive, Dickens Drive and Loch Avenue.
The event site at Brazilian Fields had an array of marquees with bicycle trade stalls, sponsor marquees and a fundraising barbeque.
The event raised close to $80,000 for the Prince of Wales cancer unit.
The Friends of Centennial Parklands had a marquee stall on site with competitions, membership info and an animal sponsorship program.
