Centennial Parklands Plan of Management

Media Release

29 July 2005

Centennial Parklands is currently updating its 1998 Plan of Management which provides the overall framework by which the Parklands manages its lands and activities.

The updated Plan will provide guidance for managing the leisure, recreation, and open space trends and issues that may arise over the next 10 years and beyond. The Plan will ensure that the Parklands are managed in a manner that retains their social, environmental, and heritage values, whilst ensuring they continue to meet diverse recreation and leisure demands into the future.

Due to printing and production delays, the advertised starting date of Friday 29 July has been withdrawn. It is now anticipated that the draft Plan of Management will go on public exhibition in mid August.

As a result, the exhibition period will also be extended. Further information on the date for the public information day will be available in the next fortnight.

In addition, all stakeholders who have previously been invited to attend preliminary consultations or who register with the project manager will be notified of the start of exhibition period.

For more information about the Plan, visit www.cpplanofmanagement.com.au or to register for individual notification of the draft Plan's exhibition, please contact the project manager on 9339 6651 or pom@cp.nsw.gov.au
