Picnics and BBQs
There are seven free electric barbecues in Centennial Park. These operate on a first-come basis (see the interactive map to locate these barbecues).
You can bring in portable barbecues with legs (except during periods of total fire ban), as well as portable picnic equipment such as tables and chairs.
You are not permitted to bring in portable barbecues that sit on the grass. Dumping hot coals, lighting fires and lighting fireworks are all prohibited.
Restrictions also apply during periods of total fire bans, see Centennial Parklands Rules and Regulations.
Toilet facilities are located throughout the Parklands.
Picnic groups of 50 or more
Picnic or party groups of 50 or more people are required to register with the Parklands Office. Registering will ensure if any of your group cannot locate the designated area, the Park Rangers can direct them.
If there are any large events or maintenance work scheduled, notification will be given and an alternative area of the park may be chosen.
Centennial Park is a public park and as such, the area cannot be booked exclusively for your use.
When registering, you will be asked for the following details:
- Date and time of activity
- Area to be used
- Group numbers
Groups of over 100 people will incur a fee. See our list of fees and charges.
For all enquiries, contact the Parklands Office on (02) 9339 6699 or info@centennialparklands.com.au.
