Centennial Parklands Foundation
Now in the 21st century, Centennial Parklands-comprising Centennial Park, Moore Park and Queens Park-is one of the most valuable legacies in this dynamic international city of ours. Today, it is truly 'the people's park' that earlier generations had hoped it would be. People of all ages and cultures gather here to celebrate, to relax, to play. Like our community, the Parklands has grown and changed, but welcomes everyone who respects and cares for it.
The time has come for a renewed commitment to Centennial Parklands for future generations. As Sydney grows, so do the demands on these much-loved Parklands.
Centennial Parklands Foundation has been created to foster commitment and financial support to the Parklands and to give people the opportunity to directly contribute to the future.
Thanks to our generous donors the Foundation successfully raised $111,992 in 2006-07 for the replacement of ageing trees. However, we have a long way to go as almost 60% of the Parklands 16,000 trees must be replaced.
