What is the CCC's relationship with the Trust?
The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust Act obliges the Trust to establish an effective procedure for community consultation concerning the activities and policies pursued by the Trust. This procedure must include a Community Consultative Committee. The CCC nominates one of its members, usually the Chair, to be a Trustee - and that person is then appointed by the Governor, usually for a two-year term. In this way, there can be flow of information and communication between the Trust and the Committee.
Of course, the CCC is not the only way that the Trust consults the community. People in the community may always contact the Parklands directly - and do not have to go via the CCC. The CCC is one means by which community views can be communicated to the Trust, and information can flow back to the community.
