Temporary playground closures and improvements (From 10 February 2017)

Posted: 2 February 2017

As part of the Sustainable Parklands Program we are resurfacing two of the playgrounds in Centennial Parklands: the Restaurant Playground in Centennial Park and the Queens Park Playground in Queens Park.

Works will commence in February 2017 and will involve the installation of softfall rubber material to create a more even, safe and attractive playing surface for children to enjoy.

Both playgrounds will be temporarily closed to allows us to safely facilitate these works. Work will be carried out in two stages:

Stage one: Restaurant Playground

  • Work will commence on 10 February 2016 and take approximately one week, weather permitting

Stage two: Queens Park Playground

  • Work will commence on 20 February 2016 and take approximately two weeks, weather permitting

All other playgrounds in Centennial Parklands will remain open during this time. Click here to see a full list of playgrounds in the Parklands.
