Join in the fun of this week-long event celebrating Sydney’s beautiful parks and gardens.

Centennial Parklands is offering a number of exciting and informative free activities and events during this week. Included will be a children’s Healthy Treasure Hunt, a Park historic walk, a bird-watching walk, and a Parklands tree tour.

The Healthy Treasure Hunt on Sunday, 15 October is design to complement the Walk to Cure Diabetes event also held in the Park on that day. Centennial Parklands Rangers will lead children on a hunt for healthy treasure snacks as they answer questions about the Park.

There will be two walks to enjoy on Wednesday, October 18 - an afternoon historic walk and a twilight bird watching walk.

The historic walk will take in both well-known and lesser-known historical landmarks in Centennial Park, with Rangers providing colourful historical background to many of the sights featured.

The bird watching walk will explore the numerous and diverse bird life within the Parklands, visiting those parts of the Park that offer a fascinating close-up view into the habitat of many of the bird species that call the Park home.

A special tree tour is planned to coincide with the Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Spring Picnic on Sunday, 22 October. An experienced Centennial Parklands arborist will be conducting a fascinating short tour of the Parklands to look at the tree population, the changes and stresses it has undergone in recent years, the management of the tree population and the challenges inherent in the Parklands Tree Replacement Program.

All events offered by Centennial Parklands during Parks Week are free of charge and the public is welcome is to participate.
