BBQs & Picnics
There are many barbecue and picnic areas in Centennial Park, Moore Park and Queens Park. You can find barbecue locations via the interactive map.
Portable barbecues
You are permitted to bring in portable barbecues with legs (except during periods of total fire ban), as well as portable picnic equipment such as tables and chairs. However, you are not permitted to bring in portable barbecues that sit on the grass.
Dumping hot coals, lighting fires and lighting fireworks are all prohibited.
Prior to bringing a portable barbecue to Centennial Parklands, please read our Rules and Regulations.
Please note: Centennial Park's opening hours are sunrise to sunset. All vehicles must leave the park before sunset or pay a gate opening fee.
Large groups
Bookings are required for groups of 50 or more, and such bookings will incur a fee. Please complete the Picnic and Wedding application form.
Your group will be registered on the 'Parklands Running Sheet'. Therefore if any of your group cannot locate the designated area, the Park Rangers can direct them.
If there are any large events or maintenance work scheduled, notification will be given and an alternative area of the park may be chosen.
Centennial Parklands is a public park and as such the area will NOT be booked exclusively for your use.
