Make your child’s birthday party something special!

In the unique setting of Centennial Parklands, Rangers offer a number of nature-based birthday experiences for children aged 3 to 12 years.

Birthday party themes

Choose from a range of different birthday party themes that are designed to be both fun and informative. If your child has a special interest, Rangers are happy to design an activity to suit your request.

Parties for 3 to 5 year olds

For 3 to 5 years olds, you can select from a range of daytime parties:

Minibeast Madness - Shrink down into the amazing world of bugs. Rangers will take you on a hunt to discover the minibeasts of Centennial Park and help you make a bug of your own to keep.
Leaf Creatures - Join the Ranger to collect unbelievable leaves of all different shapes and sizes. Search for creatures that use leaves for their food and homes and make a leaf magnet creature with wiggly eyes.
The Enchanted Forest - Dress up as a goblin, fairy or elf and venture into the Enchanted Forest! Cast a spell with your magic wand to help the plants and animals live happily.
Nestlings and Hatchlings - Grab your binoculars and search for baby birds and nests hidden in the treetops and pond banks. Make your own mini-nest and hatchling to take home with you.

Parties for 6 to 12 year olds

For 6 to 12 years olds, you can select between daytime parties or an evening Spotlight Prowl.

Spotlight Prowl - Grab your torch and join the Rangers for a Spotlight Prowl of Centennial Park. Discover what creatures live in the Park after dark.
Candle Making - Follow the Ranger on a nature walk through some special areas in the Park. Create your own hand-made candle and decorate it with natural items found along the way.
Creepy Crawly Critters - Take a closer look into the world of creepy crawly critters as you hunt for invertebrates and dipnet for waterbugs. Create a critter craft of your very own.
Park Detectives - Become a Park Detective! Search for nature’s clues and help crack the Secret Code about Centennial Park’s special environment.
Model Gliders - Enter the world of aviation and build your own model glider to take home with you. Learn the history and flying techniques of model aero planes in Centennial Park.
Nature Kites - Join rangers on a nature walk through Centennial Park to discover different plants and animals. Construct and decorate your very own nature kite to take home, and practice flying it in the park.

Days and times

Birthday parties are one hour in duration and are conducted seven days a week pending availability.

Choose between morning and afternoon sessions for daytime parties. Evening Spotlight Prowls begin at sunset with the start time varying throughout the year.

Cost

Daytime parties cost $11 per child (minimum fee $165).
Nature Kites and Model Gliders costs $16 per child (including glider and kite kits) (minimum fee $240).
Evening Spotlight Prowls cost $11 per child (minimum fee $165).

Prices valid until 1 August 2009.

Costs include one Ranger to conduct the birthday party as well as any equipment or craft materials. Invitations, refreshments and birthday cakes are not included.

Full payment must be received one week prior to the party to confirm your booking. Further details will be provided on a confirmation letter once a booking has been made.

Numbers of children

For 3 to 5 year olds, there is a maximum capacity of 20 children.
For 6 to 12 year olds, there is a maximum capacity of 25 children.

For every party there must be one adult for every five children to assist with supervision.

Locations

All daytime parties meet at the Shelter Pavilion on Parkes Drive, Centennial Park.

Evening Spotlight Prowls meet at the Robertson Road Gates, corner Robertson and Lang Roads, Centennial Park.

There are no BBQ facilities at these locations, however there are amenities and picnic facilities nearby.

Please note that it is not possible to reserve these areas.

Due to popularity, it is recommended that bookings be made at least one month in advance.
