Peter Solness Night Magic Workshop
Renowned night photographer, Peter Solness, developed these workshops as a result of much interest from visitors to his exhibition, ‘Illuminated Landscape’ at the Superintendents Residence at Centennial Park.
In this 3.5 hour session Peter shares his knowledge and experience of this exciting new genre of digital photography. You are invited to join this unique workshop and photograph the beautiful trees, gardens and sculptures within the Park.
Workshop details:
- Arrival at 7pm at the Superintendents Residence.
- An audio-visual presentation of the best images from my ‘Illuminated Landscape’, followed by a Q and A session and descriptions of how certain images were created.
- Discussions about the principles of night photography and the recommended lights and equipment required to create stunning night-time images.
- An initial session playing with lighting effects and photographing the immediate surrounds outside of the Superintendents Residence to gain confidence working with your equipment in the dark.
- Break into smaller groups and head out to photograph Centennial Park’s splendid paperbark and figtree groves nearby. I will guide you in ways of ensuring the best results, as you ‘paint the trees’ with torchlight.
- Return to the residence for a final de-brief and refreshments, tea and coffee.
