Taste of Sydney

Centennial Park will again play host to Sydney's Ultimate Restaurant Event: Taste of Sydney is the perfect recipe for gourmet glamour, entertaining and inspiration.

Over 4 days, visitors will be able to create their ultimate degustation from some of Sydney’s finest restaurants while they sip, sample and graze their way through the festival. Take part in wine tastings and tutorials, learn from the experts in one of the many cooking demonstrations or have a glass of wine with your favourite chef.

Taste of Sydney is an exclusive event to try sample-sized signature dishes from the City’s finest restaurants and their acclaimed chefs – it’s a fantastic opportunity to try new places, explore different cuisines and plan a whole year of dining out!

Taste of Sydney is a must-attend experience for all sophisticated foodies and socialites of Sydney.

Transport Info

Centennial Parklands is less than five kilometres from the Sydney central business district.

Centennial Parklands encourages the use of public transport. It is easy to get here by bus, train, car, bike or on foot. Please visit our Getting to the Parklands page for more detailed public transport information. If you do drive, there are parking options available within Centennial Parklands, however on weekends and major event days there may be parking restrictions and traffic congestion.

Frequently Asked Questions about events in Centennial Parklands

Which areas of Centennial Park are impacted by this event and when?

The event site will occupy Brazilian Fields (west), adjacent to Parkes Drive from Wednesday 7 to Thursday 15 March 2012. The Taste of Sydney event will take place from Thursday 8 to Sunday 11 March 2012. See map of Centennial Parklands.

I am not attending the event, can I still access Centennial Park on event days?

Yes, Centennial Park is open to all visitors while the Taste of Sydney event is on, except for Brazilian Fields (west) where the event is located.

Will there be any road closures associated with this event?

Dickens Drive and Loch Avenue South will be closed from Wednesday 7 until Monday 12 March 2012.

Which Park gates should I use to get to the event?

Paddington Gates and Randwick Gates are the best Park entry and exit points for the Taste of Sydney event.

Will there be limited mobility parking available near the event site?

Limited mobility parking is available near the event site on Parkes Drive.

What else is happening in the Park during the event?

Moonlight Cinema, located in the Belvedere Amphitheatre, will also be in operation each evening until the 25 March 2012. For more information visit the Moonlight Cinema page.

Will there be any sound impacts related to this event?

There will be some live music played on the central bandstand during the day sessions from 12.00 to 4.00 pm (12.00 to 5.00 pm on Sunday) and night sessions from 5.30 to 9.30 pm. Music will be ‘easy listening’ style.

We work closely with the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and are committed to comply with all legislation and guidelines covering permissible sound levels at outdoor events. This includes pre-event sound checking, as well as event day monitoring and management of noise levels to adjust according to the prevailing weather conditions (e.g. wind strength and direction).
