Head On Photo Festival 2012 in Centennial Parklands

This year Head On Photo Festival brings over 150 shows and events to 90 venues across Sydney and beyond. Venues include galleries, museums, cafes, office buildings, libraries, Paddington Water Reservoir and Centennial Park. Events include exhibitions, workshops, artists’ talks, seminars and an exciting week long master class with David Alan Harvey, National Geographic Magazine and Magnum photographer.

Head On returns again to Centennial Park this year with a number of fantastic shows and workshops.

The Ludlites is a group of 11 photographers specialising in the use of lo-fi plastic lens cameras creating stylistic and mysterious images. They have been experimenting with new ways to document the landscape and environment for their exhibition ‘Ludlites Love Nature’ to be presented at the Superintendent’s Residence.

The Ludlites’ Tim Hixson is also offering the opportunity to experience firsthand their techniques through a workshop and tour of the exhibition on Saturday 12 May.

Peter Solness will present his Night Magic workshops giving the opportunity for keen participants to photograph the night landscape using torches to add a little luminescence to the midnight sky.

Among the trees is the ACMP Head On Collection, showcasing work of some of the finest photographers in Australia as well as Head On collection of large scale banners from photographers across the nation inspired by Sydney Life.

Head On Photo Festival and Head On Portrait Prize are initiatives of Head On Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation aiming to promote photography, photoartists and the pursuit of excellence in the artform.
