Sports in the Parklands
Centennial Parklands offers a diverse range of sport and recreation activities in a beautiful setting, 10 minutes from Sydney's CBD.
Featuring over 35 sports fields, an 18 hole public golf course and driving range, tennis courts, netball courts, an athletics track and full equestrian facilities, the Parklands are a major sporting and recreational destination right in the heart of the city.
Quality sports grounds and facilities can be hired as a casual one-off booking or on a seasonal basis.
Seasonal Sport Bookings
Seasonal sportsfield bookings in Centennial Parklands are taken twice-yearly.
Summer season
- Runs from October to March annually

What sports are played in Centennial Parklands?

The ES Marks Athletics Field incorporates a 400m recatan running track, main field and covered stand with seating for 1000 people.Support amenities include changing rooms, toilets, First Aid Room, Officials Room (with PA system) and Meeting Room. The facility is floodlit.
Opening hours
The athletics field is open to the public on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 3.30 pm to 8.30 pm for casual training.
Bookings
Bookings are not required and payment can be made at the gate. Adults $4.50, Concessions $3.00.
The ES Marks track and field can be booked at an hourly rate outside of these times on a seasonal or casual basis for athletic training.

Competition
ES Marks is also available for athletic carnivals, with a canteen available by arrangement. Equipment may be hired through Athletics NSW.

There are two dedicated Aussie Rules Football fields in Centennial Parklands. These can be hired by casual or seasonal hirers, or professional sporting teams.
Bat and Ball Field (so named in reference to the pub across the road) is located on the western edge of Moore Park, adjacent to the Moore Park Golf course.
The Bus Loop Oval is a premium AFL training field situated opposite the Sydney Cricket Ground in the bustling Moore Park Precinct.

Centennial Parklands offers newly resurfaced and flood-lit basketball courts for hire. The basketball courts are located immediately behind the Parklands Sports Centre in Moore Park (see map).
The Centre is easily accessible by public transport. Alternatively, limited parking is available at the Sports Centre.
The Centre recently hosted the Shoot, Pass N Slam tournament in February 2008 hosting over 1,000 players and spectators.

Centennial Parklands offers a range of options for seasonal and casual cricketers. Toilets and change room facilities are available at many locations.
The Parklands offers both turf and synthetic wickets. McKay Oval is set in the picturesque Centennial Park. The Oval boasts a high quality turf wicket available for seasonal and some casual hire.
There is a club house associated with the Oval which may be hired out in conjunction with the wicket.
There are synthetic wickets located throughout Centennial Parklands during the summer season. Moore Park and Queens Park boast multiple wickets ideal for large groups or competitions.

Cycling is a great way to get to and around Centennial Parklands. It is good for your health and for the environment.Centennial Park's Grand Drive incorporates a 3.8 kilometre cycling lane ideal for all levels - even those who have not ridden a bike for a while.
You must wear a cycle helmet in Centennial Parklands (you can hire safety equipment from the businesses below).
For the safety of all park visitors, cyclist should be aware of the regulations which apply to cycling in Centennial Parklands, and always remember that the 30km/h speed limit in Centennial Park is for cars and bikes.

- Car Free Days are held in Centennial Parklands on the last Sunday of every season. These days are great opportunities for cyclists.

Centennial Parklands features an 18-hole, Group One Championship golf course at Moore Park - the closest golf course to the Sydney CBD.
Management of the course was transferred to the Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust in 1990, and a total reconstruction of the Golf Course was undertaken in 1991.
Whether playing a round of golf, or visiting the picturesque three-tiered driving range for practice or a hit-and-giggle, Moore Park Golf is the venue for you.

Portable soccer goals are available upon request, however the Trust has strict guidelines for the use of such portable goal posts. You will be required to read and sign guidelines for their use upon booking.

Netballers can enjoy social mixed and ladies evening netball competitions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Year round competitions are offered and bibs, balls and umpires are provided.

Set before a corridor of paperbark trees, McKay Oval boasts a quality soccer field. Adjacent to the oval is a second soccer field and combination rugby / soccer field.
The Mission Fields are fringed by trees on all sides and accommodate two high quality soccer fields. Situated in close proximity to Centennial Park's fine ponds, this is an ideal ground for a post-game BBQ.
The Parade Grounds provides three combination soccer / rugby fields and is centrally located in close proximity to the Centennial Parklands Cafe and Restaurant and the Cafe playground.
With a beautiful Pine Forest as the backdrop to the north and Lachlan Reserve to the south, the Brazilian Field is an ideal location for a competition or social game.
Moore Park
There are four combination soccer / rugby fields at Moore Park West.
Queens Park
There are six senior soccer fields and two combination soccer / rugby fields at Queens Park. There are also three junior sized soccer fields available with portable mini soccer posts which are anchored to the ground.

Centennial Parklands features two tennis centres - both located in the Moore Park precinct.Moore Park Tennis
Located just below the Moore Park Golf Course on Cleveland Street, Moore Park Tennis offers tennis courts for hire as well as coaching, social competitions, racquet and ball sales and ball machine hire.
There are four floodlit synthetic grass courts open seven days a week from 7.00 am to 10.00 pm.

Parklands Sports Centre

There are opportunities for Touch football/OzTag in Centennial Park at the Reservoir Fields, Parade Grounds, McKay Fields and Mission Fields.
