Come join the party animals with our Ranger led Birthday Parties!
Centennial Parklands is a great place to have a birthday party. Whether you do it yourself or hire your own Parklands’ Party Ranger to provide a one or two hour led experience.
There are a range of different birthday party themes on offer that are designed to be safe, fun and maybe even educational! There are different party themes that are designed to suit different ages and aim to entertain and excite both boys and girls.
All our parties are held from the Learning Centre which provides an excellent party venue close to some awesome wild spaces such as ponds, swamp and woods. The Learning Centre also provides clients with an all weather option - on rainy days party activities will be amended to the indoor setting. The venue can also be hired for additional time if you want a venue for party food and cake, a BBQ or to extend the length of your party.
Our standard daytime parties:
- $15 per child for a one hour experience (minimum fee $225.00)
- $25 for a 2 hour experience (includes cake ceremony, party or wild play games)
This includes:
- Party Ranger to conduct the birthday party
- Equipment or craft materials (Some party choices have attract an additional charge for craft activities such as kites)
- Use of the Learning Centre for the time of the Ranger led activities
This does not include:
- Any food, drinks or cake
- Additional use of the Learning Centre, outside of party activities
- Use of the private BBQ Zone
- Cleaning of the facilities
Full payment must be received two weeks prior to the party to confirm your booking. Further details will be provided on a confirmation letter once a booking has been made.
What parties do we offer?
For 3 to 5 year olds
For 3 to 5 years olds, you can select from a range of daytime parties at $15 per child:
- The Bugliest Bug hunt. Who is the Bugliest Bug in the park? Go on a bug hunt with nets and bug catchers both on the land and in the pond. Then make you own bugliest bug to take home.
- The Enchanted Forest. Join the Party Ranger and venture into the Enchanted Forest. Discover the wonderful world of Lachlan Swamp on a quest to collect the five special secrets of the woods. Then make your own magic nature wand to take home. (Spells not included).
- Mud monsters. For wild things only! Join the Party Ranger for a super swamp walk, then return to the woods to make your own mud monster to leave with the trees.
For 6 to 12 year olds
For 6 to 12 years olds, you can select between the following parties:
$15 per child:
- Candle Making. Follow the Ranger on a nature walk through some special areas in the Park. Create your own hand-made candle and decorate it with natural items found along the way.
- Creepy Crawly Critters. Take a closer look into the world of creepy crawly critters as you hunt for invertebrates and dipnet for waterbugs. Create a crazy critter to take home.
- Spotlight Prowl party. Grab your torch, tie your boots and join the Party Ranger at Robertson Road gates for an hour of exploring the nocturnal world of Centennial Park. Search for possums, bats and all sorts of night time creatures. (Monday to Saturday only)
- Treasure Tracking. Use maps, clues and tracks to find your way around the course to find the treasure (additional adult supervision required).
$20 per child:
- Groovy Gliders. Enter the world of aviation and decorate your own model glider to take home with you. Flying lessons and glider included.
- Krazy Kites. Construct and decorate your very own krazy kite to take home, and practice flying it in the Park.

Parents sit back and relax let the experts take control!
Add on an extra hour with our Party Ranger. They will lead the cake ceremony, supervise feeding time and play either traditional party or wild play games for only an additional $10 per child, includes use of the Learning Centre. You can then relax and record the day with fabulous photos and filming.
The BBQ Zone
The Learning Centre now has its own private BBQ facility for hire in addition to the room and the decking area. This is the only exclusive barbeque facility in Centennial Parklands.
The BBQ zone has the following facilities:
- Four burner gas barbeque
- All cooking utensils
- Picnic style serving equipment (platesm, cups, glasses, etc)
- Microwave
- Refrigerator and freezer
- How water urn
- Sink and washing up equipment
BBQ Zone Hire fees are:
- $30.00 per hour*
*can only be hired in conjunction with the Learning Centre
The Party Venue
The Learning Centre is a new great new party venue in the middle of the Park. It can be hired independently and used as a space to host your next function, or as and extension of your Ranger led birthday party. The Learning Centre is suitable for functions of up to 60 people (unseated) and can be booked for the hour or for a full day.
The Learning Centre has the following facilities:
- Tables and chairs
- Refrigerator and freezer
- Accessible Toilet
- Sink
- Large undercover deck
- Speaker System for MP3 players/ ipods
- Private BBQ Zone and kitchenette (additional charges apply, see below)
- Free parking (on Dickens Drive)
Learning Centre Hire fees are:
- Per hour $60.00
- Per day $400.00
- Bond $300.00 *
* Bond required if hired without a Ranger led experience
Bookings and Conditions
Times and Days
Birthday parties are one hour in duration and are conducted seven days a week pending availability.
Choose between morning and afternoon sessions for daytime parties. Evening Spotlight Prowls begin at sunset with the start time varying throughout the year.
Numbers of Children
To assist with staffing and adequate supervision of parties, the following restrictions are placed on numbers per single party. If you anticipate greater numbers, please contact the Trust to discuss your particular needs.
- For 3 to 5 year olds, there is a maximum capacity of 20 children.
- For 6 to 12 year olds, there is a maximum capacity of 25 children.
For every party there must be one adult for every five children to assist with supervision.
How to Book
Centennial Parklands can organise birthday parties for children of all ages.
If you would like to hold your child's next birthdy in Centennial Parklands please fill in the Birthday Parties Application form and submit it to the Trust.
This form is an interactive PDF which allows you to type the applicable information directly into the form.
Once complete, the form can be saved to your hard drive and emailed as an attachment together with any other documentation as outlined in the form.
