Filming and Photography

A film-friendly location

Centennial Parklands is a popular choice for commercial filming and photography shoots, providing a great range of versatile locations for hire.

While our credits are too many to list, please refer to the bottom of the page for some of the more recent shoots.

In addition to being a fabulous location itself, Centennial Parklands is also the home to professional and educational filming and photography studios:

 

A commitment to the filming industry

The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust is committed to supporting a professional film and television industry that produces content for domestic and overseas markets and recognises the economic benefits that film and television production activities can bring to our local economy.

The Film and Television Office of NSW plays a critical development role for the NSW film and television industry and has a number of programs of assistance including project development, production investment, a young filmmakers fund, and support for industry and audience development. It also provides expert advice on locations, policy, industry contacts and production matters.

We will try to accommodate all reasonable requests for access to the Parklands many landscapes and facilities for film or photographic activities. However, our core responsibility remains the protection of the environment and the accessibility of the Parklands to its many park visitors - and will make every effort to minimise any inconvenience that may occur during filming and photographic activities.

Credits

Centennial Parklands was a location for the Mission: Impossible cinema thriller, and for the internationally-distributed Kangaroo Jack and Danny Deckchair films. Additionally, Baz Luhrmann utilised Fox Professional Studios and the Parklands during the filming and production of Australia.

Centennial Parklands has also been used as the setting for:

  • Recent commercial photo shoots for David Jones, Reebok, Supre, Rockmans, Australian Country Style Magazine, Sass and Bide, Black & White.

  • Recent music videos for Casey Donovan’s “Listen to your Heart”, Children’s performers Hi-5 and Vanessa Amorosi.

  • Recent television shoots on Enough Rope with Andrew Denton (ABC TV), Healthy Living (ABC TV), Creature Features (ABC TV), Celebrity Dog Show, Catalyst (ABC TV), Message Stick (ABC), Mary Bryant, the mini-series, Love My Way (Pay TV), Raggs Childrens Show.

  • Recent movie shoots for Australia the Movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Superman Returns, Star Wars: Episode III, The Matrix Reloaded, The Matrix Revisited, The Quiet American.
