Community Consultative Committee
The Community Consultative Committee (CCC) is an advisory body whose role is to represent a broad range of community interests to the Centennial Park & Moore Park Trust.
It is instrumental in providing a forum for communication, input and relationship building between the Trust and the Parklands' many constituencies.
The CCC is a requirement of the Trust's legislation.
Members of the community and park visitors are encouraged to contact the CCC about any issues they would like to raise about the Parklands and its policies.
The CCC will meet on the following dates in 2010:
- 9 February
- 13 April
- 8 June
- 3 August
- 7 September
- 26 October
About the CCC

The role of the CCC is to:
- advise and assist the Trust in the development and review of its plans and policies;
- monitor and evaluate the Trust's performance;
- advise the Trust on possible new or modified services and facilities; and
- deal with everything from maintenance priorities to tree planting and conservation management plans.
In addition, the members of the CCC keep up-to-date with park visitor and local community issues relating to the Parklands and actively engages with the community through attendance at resident association meetings and formal local council forums.

The CCC is made up of people who are regular users of the Parklands and who wish to be actively involved in its preservation, effective utilisation and ongoing improvement. Remote users are also represented on the CCC, reflecting the Parklands' status as an important Sydney, regional and national landmark.
Members have a variety of backgrounds including local government, environment, sport, special education and business.
The members of the CCC are appointed by the Trust on the recommendation of the Parklands' Director. Members are appointed for two-year terms, with eligibility for re-appointment for a further two year term.
The Chair of the CCC also takes on the community representative position on the Trust.
Members are all volunteers and receive no payment.

The current members of the CCC are:
Frances Meagher, BA Dip Ed
Fran was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in February 2008. She was also a member of the CCC in 2004 and 2005. Fran and her family have lived opposite Centennial Park for the past 15 years. She is the Coordinator for the Veuve Clicquot Award and has been actively involved in fundraising for the Sydney Children’s Hospital Randwick and the NSW Art Gallery. Fran is a great believer in the community having a voice and thinks that the CCC is an important conduit between the Trust and the broad spectrum of park visitors.
Mrs Sandy Libling, MA (Oxon)
Sandy attended the Australian Film and Television School and worked in the film industry for many years on financing and production. She has lived next to the Park for more than twenty-five years during which she has spent many hours pushing her babies, laughing with her sons, and walking with friends in the Park. She is currently studying Psychology and is particularly interested in the cultural and literary history of the Park.
Bruce Morrow BE, M Eng Sci, MBA, Grad Dip Fin
Bruce was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in January 2009. He is a long time resident of Bondi Junction. Currently, he is a member of Waverley Council's Bondi Junction Forum and is a past member of the Bondi Junction Precinct Committee.
As a local, he is frequently in the park dog-walking, cycling, watching events or just enjoying its environment. His early career was as a civil engineer on large infrastructure projects. He then went on to be a senior executive in business services and IT companies, and now consults in the areas of business development, policy and infrastructure.
Brenda Sambrook RN CNS
Brenda was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in January 2009. She grew up in Randwick and has been a lifelong patron of Centennial Parklands. A resident of Centennial Park since 1997, she and her family continue to use the parklands for walking their dogs, as well as enjoying its recreational and gastronomic delights.
Brenda is particularly interested in the role of the CPMPT and the parklands as the "lungs of Sydney" and hopes to work closely with the Trust and the community to ensure that the parklands are protected, preserved and maintained for the generations of Australians to follow. She is a Clinical Nurse Specialist, currently involved in practice management, and a primary producer in the olive growing industry dealing with tourism, environmental sustainability and fiscal management.
Currently Brenda sits on the executive of the Centennial Park Residents' Association and is heavily involved in fundraising for a number of large charitable and medical institutes including Osteporosis Australia and the Institute of Bone and Joint Research (USYD).
Stacy Warren, BEnvSc LLB
Stacy was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in December 2007. Stacy is an environmental planning professional working for a private environmental/ engineering firm in the city. Stacy lives in the inner-west, but is a regular visitor the Parklands, particularly the playing fields at Moore Park.
Over the last 7 years Stacy has been an active member of two local community sporting groups that use the Parklands and has been strongly involved in the administration and management of these associations. Stacy is also a keen cyclist and recreational user of the Parklands for a variety of activities, including walking, picnicking and special events. Stacy hopes that her practical knowledge and first hand experience, along with her professional interest in planning and environment, will add value to the Community Consultative Committee and the Parklands.
Mr Harley Wright
Harley was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in February 2008. Harley works in the finance industry and is a regular user of the Parklands with his wife and two children.
As well as family occasions, Harley uses the Parklands for running, cycling and social activities. He is looking forward to working with the committee to maintain the high value of the Parklands to all its users.
Giles Edmonds, MA (Cantab), MSc, Dip Comm
Giles was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in January 2010. Giles has been living close to Centennial Park for the last 25 years. The variety of parkland facilities have been an important part of his and his family's life, including pushing swings and feeding the ducks when his children were younger, jogging, horse riding, daily dog walking, watching school sport, refereeing schools rugby matches, picnicing with friends, now driving his son to and from Moore Park Golf, and watching the Moonlight Cinema.
Giles is particularly interested in ensuring that the parklands continue to provide access to a wide variety of the community and remain financially strong so that all users, both existing and future generations, can continue to share the great experiences the parklands have to offer. Giles is a senior executive in the finance industry.
Melinda Hayton
Melinda was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in February 2010. She has lived in Paddington for around 15 years and uses the Parklands for daily walking, dog walking, golf, picnics, coffee, and lunch. She has been involved in community work since she was 16 and has extensive experience, through her own business, in market research across Australia and Asia and social research and community development in Australia. She has consulted to many NGOs and also been involved in the tourism industry. Melinda has previously been on the committee of the Paddington Society and a board director of various charities.
She looks forward to contributing to the continued community participation in the ongoing development of these fantastic facilities by the broad range of current and future users of the Parklands.
Rosemary Kingsford
Rosemary is a life -long resident of Randwick Municipality and has always loved visiting Centennial Park for social and recreational use. She enjoys using the many facilities that the Parklands offer; it has played a special role in many family celebrations. She loves to walk in the park and feels it offers a peaceful and calming environment to weary Sydney siders, with its greenspace and wetlands supporting a wide range of biodiversity.
Rosemary has worked at the University of NSW as a lecturer in Biology and Physiology and currently teaches at the Hospital School within Sydney Children’s Hospital, Randwick. She has experience in representing community groups and was appointed to the Community Consultative Committee in January 2010.

The Centennial Park and Moore Park Trust is required to operate a Community Consultative Committee. The Committee’s role is to represent the community by providing advice on visitor services policy and prospective new services, as well as assisting in the development and evaluation of service standards.
Applicants for this committee must be able to demonstrate:
- a strong commitment to Centennial Parklands;
- an ability to communicate with a variety of community groups and individuals that have an interest in Centennial Parklands; and
- a commitment to Centennial Parklands’ diversity of values and stakeholder views.
