Industry Memberships

One of the key aims of the Trust is to ensure its operations and practices are in line with best practice within the park management industry, and manages its assets in a relevant and responsive manner.

To this end, the Trust actively participates in, or is a full member of, a range of industry networks, including:

Parks Forum

Web: www.parksforum.org

Parks Forum is the peak industry association for park management agencies in Australia and New Zealand.

It represents agencies which have management and stewardship responsibility for the full range of parks across the parks spectrum, from smaller urban parklands and forests, through to larger national parks and protected areas.

Parks Forum has developed or its members have been involved in the development of several best-practice resources for the industry, including reports on "The Value of Parks" and "Working Together - for excellence in park management".

Sydney Parks Group

Web: www.sydneyparksgroup.net.au

The Sydney Parks Group was established in 1998 to provide a strategic integrated approach to urban park research in Sydney.

As cities such as Sydney continue to grow, the value of parks as recreation and leisure spaces will become increasingly important. The role of bodies such as the Sydney Parks Group will also become more important in determining how these parks are managed for the future needs of the community.

Tourism & Transport Forum Australia
